40 YEARS OF HIV

Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the discovery of HIV on the web and on social media

As the Institut Pasteur celebrates the 40th anniversary of the discovery of HIV, it wants to provide comprehensive, accessible information about the topic to staff and to a wider audience, especially via extensive digital content and online initiatives. The newsletter team decided to take a closer look.

•    Showcasing the 40th anniversary of the discovery of HIV via the Institut Pasteur's external and internal websites

►Spotlight on pasteur.fr

Since late April you will no doubt have noticed that the pasteur.fr website has a new feature visible on the home page.

A red banner above the main menu, with the words "HIV: 40 years of research and action," offers direct access to a dedicated space containing extensive information and details about the initiatives introduced to mark the anniversary.

Video testimonials, links to articles and special features produced by the Institut Pasteur, upcoming events, useful resources on HIV – make sure you check out the space and spread the word. This single page contains comprehensive, structured information about HIV, from its history to the celebrations organized this year by the Institut Pasteur.

Social media presence and a banner that you can display on your profile

On February 4, 2023, at precisely 5.45pm to mark the exact moment of the discovery 40 years ago, the Institut Pasteur published the first images of HIV-1 taken by Charles Dauguet in 1983 on its social media pages. This was the first of a series of publications related to the anniversary, with all the Institut Pasteur's social media pages now featuring a banner based on the dedicated label to boost the visual impact of the anniversary celebrations online.

LinkedIn is not to be outdone, offering a carousel retrospective of the highlights of the early years of Pasteurian research

The Institut Pasteur has decided to make the visuals available to download so that all Institut Pasteur staff can also use the banner on their own pages:
