Technology core facilities: launch of certified training courses at the Institut Pasteur

The Institut Pasteur is launching its first certified training courses developed by the technology core facilities for their users. Find out more about this new career development tool.

By offering expertise, services and the use of equipment, the teams in the core facilities within the Technology Department provide support for research teams as they carry out their projects. They also help foster technological skills on campus by training users to use equipment independently and to perform experiments based on state-of-the-art technologies.

To encourage the career development of Institut Pasteur staff, the Technology Department, in partnership with the Department of Education and the Human Resources Department, is pleased to offer a series of training courses for users of core facilities, leading to certificates that verify the skills acquired.

Different skill levels are recognized:

• Beginner (no certificate) – ability to work on a specific pipeline under supervision from someone with advanced or expert skills

• Independent – ability to work independently on a specific pipeline

• Advanced – ability to demonstrate the efficacy of using a specific pipeline for biomedical research

- Expert – ability to demonstrate extensive expertise in a given technological field

Seven training courses are now available:

• Mass Spectrometry for Biology
• Cytometry and Biomarkers
• Biomaterials and Microfluidics
