2019-2023 STRATEGIC PLAN

The Institut Pasteur adopts a policy for managing and sharing research data and software codes

In its 2019-2023 Strategic Plan, the Institut Pasteur set itself the objective of "promoting open access to research data".

This objective is in line with a national and international policy which encourages research organizations to improve management of research data and software to facilitate sharing and reproducibility of research (French National Plan for Open Science, new requirements of funding bodies and journal publishers, etc.).

The Institut Pasteur’s policy for managing and sharing research data and software codes came into force on May 1, 2021. It sets out the guidelines established at the Institut Pasteur and aims to support scientists throughout the duration of their research project by helping them to adopt best practices to facilitate the reuse of data and software codes and improve the quality, reproducibility and security of their research. It is linked to practical guides and contacts to give scientists the operational resources they need to implement these best practices. The practical guides are available on the webcampus page dedicated to the policy.

This policy was devised in connection with a project  led by the Scientific Secretariat General, in collaboration with numerous Institut Pasteur staff (administrative and scientific staff). It is based on the practices and needs reported on campus during a survey conducted in 2019.
