CORONAVIRUS

Message from the BCP Committee following the announcements by the French President on November 24

Dear all,

Following the announcements made by the French President on Tuesday November 24 regarding the phased easing of lockdown restrictions, the BCP Committee would like to let you know about the impact of these measures on campus.

The main principles outlined in the messages sent out on October 29 and November 6 remain the same for the month of December 2020 and until further notice, namely:

  • Avoid coming to campus unless strictly necessary

  • Priority given to wet-lab research activities

  • All staff who can do so must work from home

  • Restrictions on external visitors

  • No business trips allowed without special permission

Certificates for traveling to and from work, currently applicable until December 1, will be extended until December 31. Staff who previously had an employer certificate will automatically be sent the updated document in the next few days.

If the health indicators are favorable, the government should confirm the next stage around December 15, with certificates no longer required during the day and the introduction of a curfew from 9pm to 7am. If necessary, new certificates will be issued.

Following some reports from staff members, we also want to take this opportunity to remind you of the importance of observing hygiene and distancing measures on a daily basis on campus: wear a mask at all times, maintain a physical distance of at least 1 meter from other people, wash your hands regularly and air all premises.

Thanks to your efforts in observing these measures, the Institut Pasteur has avoided the development of clusters of infection. But it is vital that we continue to apply these precautions on a daily basis on campus: wearing masks, physical distancing, hand washing and regularly airing premises.

The measures announced by the government may change. We will make sure we keep you informed of any adaptations to the BCP for our campus and we hope to be able to give you an idea of how things are looking for the first quarter of 2021 before Christmas.

In the meantime, we wish you all the very best.

Kind regards,

The BCP (Business Continuity Plan) Committee
