Upcoming MOOCs: note the dates

  • Institut Pasteur's "Resistance to antibacterial agents" MOOC now available online via the Chinese platform XuetangX

After the resounding success of the "Tuberculosis" MOOC in China (more than 7,000 learners), the Chinese platform XuetangX is preparing to release a second Institut Pasteur MOOC, "Resistance to antibacterial agents", led by Patrick Trieu-Cuot and Didier Mazel from the Institut Pasteur and Béatrice Berçot from the University of Paris. It will be the third time this MOOC has been run – it was hosted by the French platform FUN in 2018 and is currently available on the platform of the Virtual University of Senegal. The Institut Pasteur is particularly committed to making knowledge about the problem of antimicrobial resistance as widely available as possible. Resistance to antibacterial agents represents a huge threat to humanity between now and 2050.

The issue is currently one of the Institut Pasteur's strategic priorities. The release of this second MOOC on XuetangX confirms the excellent cooperation between the Institut Pasteur and the coordinators of this Chinese MOOC platform run by Tsinghua University in Beijing. The release of other Institut Pasteur MOOCs in China is likely to follow.
