Museum

The museum invites you to talk with heritage restorers

Since 2023, the Institut Pasteur museum has been engaged in a major restoration project of its collections.

Currently, Viviane Miceski, curator-restorer specializing in the arts of fire, Esther Jorel, curator-restorer specializing in organic materials, and Gabrielle Decrion-Lanta, curator-restorer of graphic arts, are working on glass laboratory equipment dating from the late 19th century, such as balloons and Roux boxes.
The museum invites you to come and meet these heritage professionals. It's an opportunity to discover the profession of conservation-restoration of cultural property with young professionals, and to enrich your knowledge of the Institut Pasteur's heritage.

Roux dishes are the equivalent of Petri dishes. They were used for microbial cultures by Jean Binot (1867-1909), laboratory head and close collaborator of Dr. Emile Roux.
