Clocking up the kilometers for the Institut Pasteur after the first week of the "Vivons Vélo" initiative

Since Monday September 30, the "Vivons Vélo" initiative in aid of the Institut Pasteur has been in full swing in the atrium of the François Jacob building on the Institut Pasteur campus, giving everyone the opportunity to ride for research.

For this 8th edition, four bikes are available and you can come along every day for two weeks to push the kilometer counter ever higher.

The initiative was launched last Monday over an informal breakfast – an opportunity for contributors to grab an energy boost before taking to the saddle!

During this first week, many of you also took part in the individual challenge on Tuesday, which was to cover the longest distance possible. You also got stuck into the first team challenge, which was based on the same idea – to cover the furthest distance in groups of two, three or four cyclists. Thank you for your ongoing commitment and your continued efforts to push those pedals for charity!

It's time to gear up for next week's challenge – clocking up the fastest time for 10km.

We would remind you that the bikes are available every weekday, Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 5.30pm, except during the challenge sessions run by the organizers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11.30am to 2.30pm. It's up to you to choose whether you want to take part in a challenge or simply come along and push those pedals!

A special Pasteurdon launch challenge will be held in the CIS hall on October 9, with the aim of covering the longest distance over 3 minutes. Push yourself to the next level for Pasteurdon!

This year, some great prizes are available for Institut Pasteur staff who demonstrate their cycling prowess. They include jerseys and, once again this year, an introduction to track cycling or BMX at the prestigious national velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, accompanied by an instructor. And on Tuesdays and Thursdays, there will be keyrings, T-shirts, caps and water bottles for the best performers.

Let's get pedaling!
