EMHE Program funds fellowships for doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers from Latin American countries

The Department of International Affairs and the Education Department are pleased to inform you of a new fellowship program “Enhancing Mobility in Health and Environment” (EMHE).

The EMHE program, by providing doctoral and postdoctoral fellowships, aims to enhance mobility between Latin American and European countries and to develop in fine international scientific collaborations.

The EMHE call is now open for laboratory applications for PhD and Post-doc proposals in the field of “Health and Environment”.

The Institut Pasteur coordinates this program with a consortium of 4 Research Funding Organisations - Argentina (MINCYT), Mexico (CONACYT), Peru (CONCYTEC), Uruguay (ANII) and 2 others Research Performing Organisations - Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD - France) and CSIC (Spain).

The EMHE programme provides different kind of fellowships:

  • Full doctorate fellowships

- 2 PhD fellowships in the framework of the EMHE/PPU program* (only for the Institut Pasteur in Paris),
- 2 full PhD fellowships for Peruvian students.

  • Co-direction thesis fellowships:

- 2 for Argentinian students,
- 2 for Uruguayan students,
- Fellowships are also possible in the framework of the Franco-Peruvian Doctoral School.

  • Postdoctoral fellowships

- 5 for Mexican researchers (in addition to the bilateral agreement between Institut Pasteur and CONACYT).

The EMHE program, “Enhancing Mobility in Health and Environment”, has been recently created thanks to the support of the ERANet LAC – PCA (Network of the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean Countries on Joint Innovation and Research Activities – Pilot Coordination Actions).

*The selection process of the PPU-EMHE will be different from the PPU program (see information sheet). However, the students will benefit from the same financial conditions and scientific framework as the PPU students.
