Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
As with every year's edition, Pasteurdon 2021 will be driven by a new campaign accompanied by a poster that will feature on various materials including newspapers, magazines, Paris metro stations, billboards, running vests, and both print and web banners, etc.
And this year the tone is set at first glance of the visual! A strong backdrop and a determined look for a clearly identified objective – to advance research.
The Institut Pasteur's scientists are standing in front of the François Jacob building radiating a powerful sense of strength that echoes the message of this year's edition: "Because we realize that time is running out and the world can come to a standstill... research must advance." These are people who embody the key players in science dedicated to improving our health at a time when a sudden change in the health situation – like the one we have now – can turn a whole planet and its entire population upside down. From their numbers and stance, we can see the scientists' determination and steadfast commitment to their respective fields of expertise. And there are indeed many of them at the Institut Pasteur!
Like the Institut Pasteur film (see the September 3 issue of the newsletter), the poster for the new campaign reflects the reality of research; it must never stop whatever the circumstances or situation so that we deepen our knowledge ever further. These differences in time and speed are brought to life by the terms "running out" and "come to a standstill" as opposed to "advance", which is associated with research and promotes the action of science.
So the poster for the new Pasteurdon campaign sets the tone; it is a committed declaration that pays tribute to the dedication of scientists who continue to advance, even when time comes to a standstill during major upheavals.
This message also aims to continue to raise awareness of the importance of donations and to appeal to the generosity of the public, which also plays a key role in advancing research.
Let's continue to defend research together!
The Department of Communications and Scientific Outreach would like to extend its sincere thanks once again to all staff who played a part in the campaign poster in June.
