Report on the fire drill conducted on July 29

A fire drill took place on Saturday July 29 with the help of the Paris Fire Department.

Many fire engines and teams from the Paris Fire Department were involved in the drill, including the Paris Fire Department command unit. Its purpose was to simulate arson with fire spreading over several levels and victims rescued via ladder.

During the drill the firefighters exercised their skills to prevent the fire spreading beyond the museum and prioritize their action to preserve the artworks.
A feedback session was held between the Institut Pasteur departments and the Paris Fire Department's command staff on campus to identify areas for improvement.

At the same time the Security Department tested the response of the Security Operations Center staff in their role as first responders in the event of fire and attending to a casualty who has inhaled fumes.

Internal training sessions for potential fire wardens and on handling fire extinguishers will be available from October onwards.

You can contact surete@pasteur.fr. to sign up now. This training can benefit you both personally and professionally.

The staff of the Paris Fire Department would once again like to thank the Institut Pasteur for hosting the drill and for its proactive participation in managing fire risks on campus.
