Professional gender equality awareness week from September 27 to 30: note the events in your diaries!

Save the date for the 2022 edition of Gender Week, from September 27 to 30.

We would remind you that you are all invited to participate in the dedicated week on gender equality and working better together, which will take place from September 27 to 30. The program for Gender Week will include a lecture, round tables, training workshops, coffee chats and information and discussion sessions to raise awareness among the Institut Pasteur community of a variety of topics such as unconscious bias, sexist behavior, the glass ceiling, women in leadership, etc.

GENDER WEEK 2022 : SAVE THE DATE

PROGRAM OF EVENTS

 

• Tuesday September 27, from 2pm: an afternoon with lectures and round tables to discuss three broad topics: unconscious bias, sexist violence and the glass ceiling. The main measures in the Institut Pasteur Gender Equality Plan will also be presented. Participation is open to the entire Institut Pasteur community. 

Afternoon speakers:

- Stewart Cole, Institut Pasteur President, Odile Hermabessière, Vice-President Human Resources, and Mariana Mesel-Lemoine, Head of the MAASCC Department

- Barbara de Micheli (Fondazione Giacomo Brodolini), Christiane Schreiweis (Paris Brain Institute and XX initiative), Pierre Deschampus (Stockholm University), Caroline de Haas (Egaé group), David Bitton (DB&A), Aude Berheim (Inserm & Wax Science), Alvine Tremoulet (Global Diversity & Inclusion Lead, Pfizer).

 

• Thursday September 29: one-hour training workshops will be run throughout the day on the topics of leadership and communication. The workshops will be open to the Institut Pasteur community; you must register in advance via the Career Portal (Talentsoft).

During the week, you will also be able to take part in three further discussion sessions:

• Wednesday September 28, 3 to 4pm, a Teams information and awareness session: "Sexist behavior and harassment: prevention, identification and action at the Institut Pasteur," led by Sandrine Daniel, Head of the HR Legal Affairs Department.

The session will be in French. If you would be interested in a session in English, please email genderweek2022@pasteur.fr. Depending on the number of people interested, a session may be organized shortly after the event.

• Friday September 30, 11.30am to 1pm: coffee chat & discussion, in English, with Marie-Caroline Chauvet, HBA (Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association) Europe Corporate Relations CoE President, on the topic "Glass ceiling and sticky floor."  

• Friday September, 2pm to 3pm: a "chill café" run by the DEI (diversity – equity – inclusion) group on a topic related to striking a balance between personal and professional life.

THERE IS STILL TIME TO SIGN UP FOR THE TRAINING SESSIONS ON SEPTEMBER 29

The various initiatives will include a series of training workshops on Thursday September 29. One-hour training workshops will be run throughout the day on the topics of leadership and communication. Sign up now. Although the slots for some workshops are already nearly full, there are still plenty of spaces left, especially for the sessions in English.

Short workshops (1 hour) designed for you:

Women in leadership (workshops for female staff members only) in French

● How to boost your impact when communicating

● Getting to know yourself better so that you can increase your profile and visibility with others

● Improving your assertiveness when interacting with others

 

Communicating and working more effectively together (workshops for male and female staff) in French and English

● Asking more effective questions to develop your active listening and
    improve your leadership skills

● Preventing and/or resolving conflicts using nonviolent communication

● Learning to delegate/take on some of the mental workload

Practical information about registering:

-    You can now sign up for as many workshops as you wish (there is no longer a maximum number of workshops per person)

-    You must register via the Career Portal (Talentsoft).
