Scan your USB devices now on three decontamination stations

In order to strengthen Institut Pasteur’s information security, three brand new USB decontamination stations have been acquired.

They are open access, available in English and very easy to use. You will find them in the following places:

  • 1st  floor CIS building, near IT support

  • cafeteria "The 25"

  • Institut de l’Audition (coming soon)

Be curious: don’t hesitate to plug in your personal and professional USB peripherals. Some use case may include:

  • During a conference, I was offered a USB key. I would like to check that it is free of malwares before using it;

  • The manufacturer of a lab device is about to apply updates via a USB key, I want to make sure that this key does not contain any viruses;

  • During a trip abroad, local authorities at the airport briefly analyzed my USB device. I would like to verify that no program has been deposited on the device;

  • I think there is malware on my phone, I’d like to analyze it (only available on Android phones for the moment);

  • I found an old external hard drive at home, I want to check what’s on it but I do not trust the contents.
