The first case of prolonged remission in an HIV-infected child
Recent research carried out at the Institut Pasteur by Asier Saez-Cirion (HIV, Inflammation and Persistence Unit) has revealed the world's first case of prolonged remission (12 years) in a child being monitored in the French ANRS pediatric cohort.
This crucial discovery for the entire AIDS research community was presented by Asier Saez-Cirion at the 8th International AIDS Society (IAS) Conference on HIV Pathogenesis, Treatment and Prevention, the largest international gathering of people involved in the fight against AIDS.
