Decision memos
The Department for Transformation and Strategic Projects (DTPS) becomes the Support and Strategic Transformation Division (PATS)
On January 1, 2026, the Department for Transformation and Strategic Projects became the Support and Strategic Transformation Division (PATS), reporting directly to the Senior Executive Vice-President. The division will also work closely with the Vice-President Scientific Affairs and the senior management team.
The cross-cutting division will provide support for the Institut Pasteur's strategy and transformation, as well as leadership in strategic projects.
The creation of the new PATS division is a logical next step to the work of the DTPS and the recommendations made following the review process for the Institut Pasteur. It reflects a need to strengthen the Institut Pasteur's operational capabilities so that it can act effectively. All projects will involve a cross-cutting approach.
The aim is also to foster a collective culture based on agility, efficiency and facilitation, while incorporating the practices and principles of project management assistance.
Structure and operation
The Support and Strategic Transformation Division (PATS) is composed of an agile team with varied and complementary skills in science, administration and project management, with the aim of providing effective operational action in areas raised by the Senior Executive Vice-President. PATS will also draw on the expertise of change agents to maintain positive interactions with campus so that any issues and needs can be dealt with.
PATS will be directed by Christophe Préhaud.

Appointment of the scientific coordinator for the BSL3 "Verrière" laboratory
Hervé Bourhy has been appointed as scientific coordinator of the BSL3 "Verrière" laboratory in the conservatory of the Duclaux building, on the first floor.
Said Mougari has been appointed as deputy scientific coordinator of the BSL3 "Verrière" laboratory in the conservatory of the Duclaux building, on the first floor.
Appointment of acting Heads for the Department of Technology and the Center for Technological Resources and Research
On January 1, 2026, following the meeting of the Scientific Management Board (CODIS) on December 17, 2025:
- Laurent Essioux was appointed as acting Head of the Department of Technology
- Julia Chamot-Rooke and Nathalie Aulner were appointed as acting Heads of the Center for Technological Resources and Research (C2RT).
New charter for PhD student representatives
A new charter has been drawn up for PhD student representatives at the Institut Pasteur. The election of representatives will now be coordinated by the PhD Students Division. The roles and tasks of PhD student representatives within each department continue to be as laid down in organization memo 0093.

Organization memo
External funding that is not permitted or requires special vigilance
To protect the Institut Pasteur's interests, it is important to monitor and restrict the commitments made with some funding bodies.
The organization memo n°0149 cancels and replaces memo n°0143 from April 1, 2024 which provided details of external funding bodies that are not permitted and those that require special vigilance. The lists below are not exhaustive and may be updated regularly.
These restrictions apply to projects for which the Institut Pasteur is the direct beneficiary and also to collaborations with other research organizations.
