Welcome Days starting up again after the summer break
Welcome Days to greet and support new staff are back – with new improvements to onboarding.
First launched in 2014, Welcome Days are half-day sessions to familiarize new staff members with the Institut Pasteur, its organization, strategy, key people and tools they need to know about. These informal events are also an opportunity for discussion over a croissant or coffee, with a series of speakers providing useful information and a tour of the Institut Pasteur campus.

First Welcome Day of the academic year
The first Welcome Day after the summer took place yesterday, Thursday September 4, in the Duclaux lecture theater, and was attended by new staff working in science or research support.
The next day will be held in English on October 7. Note down the date for any new staff set to be joining your teams!

Improvements to the onboarding experience
After introducing a module in conjunction with the museum teams in 2024 to familiarize new staff with the history of the campus and its iconic figures, another new feature has been lined up for 2025. In partnership with the internal communication teams, newcomers can now take a dedicated module presenting the ePasteur intranet: how to find your way around the three portals (Institut Pasteur, Scientific Events and HR & Careers), where to find useful information, tips and resources, and must-see pages. In other words, all the best bits of ePasteur in a nutshell!

Additional efforts to welcome foreign staff
The HR Open Door sessions, which took place throughout the first half of 2025, will also be starting up again this September. The next session will be held in October. Led by the administrative management teams in the HR Department, these events are designed to support new staff members from outside France in their onboarding process at the Institut Pasteur.

Finally, the annual intercultural awareness seminar on the topic "Settling and Living in France" is also being improved and expanded. After more than 13 years, in 2025 new international staff at the Institut Pasteur will be offered a full-day training module to address their needs and questions as comprehensively as possible. Several training sessions in small groups will be planned over the coming months. Keep an eye on the newsletter on September 12 for more details.

New intake of dual-education students
The month of September also marks the arrival of the 2025-2026 cohort of dual-education students at the Institut Pasteur. They will be arriving throughout the autumn, in line with the specific timetables and contract start dates of each student.
A dedicated article about the activities organized for the dual-education community will be published in the next issue of the newsletter.
