Internal mobility: a framework to support career development
The Institut Pasteur community is a vibrant patchwork of different professions, skills and professional backgrounds.
To clarify the broad principles of internal mobility, the teams from the Human Resources Department, the Scientific Careers and Assessment Department and the CARE Department have updated the reference framework. This will help staff in identifying available resources and contact people who can help them think through their options and take practical steps.
Clarifying the process
Depending on where you are in your career, internal mobility can sometimes represent an opportunity to develop new skills, expand your experience or discover different fields of activity at the Institut Pasteur.
A new memo has been jointly produced by the HR, Scientific Careers and Assessment and CARE Departments to set out the broad principles, aims, scope and conditions of internal mobility, as well as the roles of the various people involved in the process.

This updated framework is part of the Institut Pasteur's ongoing commitment to career development, in line with the HR Excellence in Research award and the principles set out in the Pasteur 2030 Strategic Plan.
Getting to know the people
Depending on their situation, profession and specific career trajectory, several people can provide support for staff in thinking through their options and taking steps.
This memo clarifies the respective roles of the HR, Scientific Careers and Assessment and CARE teams so that you can identify the people and departments to turn to depending on your situation and your own career plan.
Identifying available resources
This process of clarification has also involved updating and expanding the existing resources – the ePasteur intranet page and HR FAQ – and improving visibility of the internal job exchange.
Help and guidance:
• Access the new reference framework
• See the dedicated intranet page and HR FAQ
• Go to the internal job exchange, where vacancies open for internal mobility are regularly posted.
An information session will be held in the autumn to continue the discussions over internal mobility and career development. Keep an eye on the newsletter to make sure you don't miss the date!
