Upcoming "Pasteur Medicine Quarter-Hour" epilepsy and OCD special on May 6

Every month, the Center for Translational Science runs a "Pasteur Medicine Quarter-Hour" session, where two doctors are invited to give a brief presentation to Institut Pasteur scientists on the diseases they are involved in treating. The doctors start by outlining one or more clinical cases, then provide a short description of the disease and conclude by looking at a series of unanswered questions that need to be addressed.

The next session will take place on Thursday May 6, from 5.30 to 6.30pm, exclusively online via Teams. The topics will be epilepsy and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) :

•    Epilepsy – Vincent Navarro (Pitié-Salpetrière Hospital)
•    Obsessive compulsive disorder – Antoine Pelissolo (Henri Mondor Hospital)

Find out from a neurologist and a psychiatrist how epilepsy and OCD affect the brain.

Professor Vincent Navarro is head of the Epilepsy Unit and the Electroencephalography (EEG) Unit at the medical and university department of neuroscience at Pitié-Salpetrière Hospital, and co-leader of a research team on epilepsy at the Brain and Spine Institute.

Professor Antoine Pelissolo is a psychiatrist (university professor/hospital practitioner at University Paris-Est Créteil) and head of the sector-based psychiatry department at Henri Mondor Teaching Hospital (Albert-Chenevier site). He specializes in obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and severe anxiety disorder.
