Information and organization for NGS Services at Institut Pasteur

The Institut Pasteur provides researchers and health entities with the latest sequencing and analysis tools for world-class research and public health concerns. This effort is directed by The Biomics UTechS in collaboration with The Mutualized Platform for Microbiology (P2M) and the Laboratory for Urgent Response to Biological Threats (CIBU). Samples and projects at the Institut Pasteur being diverse and varied, the represented laboratories have established a coordinated entry point for services and expertise described in the flowchart below:

  • Microbiology projects are organized by category of samples:

1- Samples for CNRs, urgent outbreaks and other public health matters should pass directly to the PIBnet platforms (P2M/CIBU): pibnet@pasteur.fr,

2- All other research orientated samples, including RNA-Seq studies, can be directed to Biomics: biomics@pasteur.fr.

  • Eukaryote Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) and Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) projects are not currently performed on campus due to the large equipment required for such studies. Information for sequencing services can be directed to the Eukaryote and Human Genomics Committee (biomicsHWGS@pasteur.fr). Advice on sample preparation, analysis collaboration/service orientation is available, along with negotiated pricing for Institut Pasteur. Inquiries for RNA-Seq and Array (SNP and Methylation) analyses can be sent directly to Biomics, biomics@pasteur.fr.

Both the Microbial NGS and Eukaryote and Human Genomics committees are comprised of experts in their fields. These committees handle project requests on a weekly basis, and meet twice annually to coordinate NGS technologies and services for the Institut Pasteur. All questions or comments are welcome: sean.kennedy@pasteur.fr.
