Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Since July 4, the "Vivons Vélo" initiative in aid of the Institut Pasteur has been in full swing in the atrium of the François Jacob building on the Institut Pasteur campus, giving everyone the opportunity to ride for research. For the sixth year running, two stationary bikes have been set up – with brand new scenic backdrops for 2017 – and all staff are encouraged to get pedaling and clock up the kilometers every day with the aim of reaching the weekly target of 500km.
Since the launch of this year's edition, you have already covered an impressive 402,9 kilometers, with many of you taking part in either the individual challenge to complete the furthest distance over the three weeks, or the team challenge – the same idea but with two or three riders. Thank you for your ongoing commitment and your continued efforts to push those pedals for charity!
The team challenge for next week is to complete 10km in the quickest time – so start flexing your thigh muscles... The individual challenge will continue over the three weeks.
The bikes are available every day between 9.30am and 5.30pm. The challenges take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 11.30am and 2.30pm. It's up to you to choose whether you want to take part in a challenge or simply come along and get pedaling!
This year, some great prizes are available for Institut Pasteur staff who rise to this two-wheel challenge. They include an introduction to track cycling at the prestigious national velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, accompanied by an instructor and a member of the AG2R team.
So don't put it off any longer – come and give it some pedal power!
Next week you can look forward to cycling against the stunning backdrop of Le Puy en Velay.
And in the meantime, don't miss the start of stage 8 of the Tour de France in Dole, Louis Pasteur's home town, tomorrow, Saturday July 8. You can follow all the action on France Télévisions.
