Cycling section: "Bicycode marking" on May 12

Each year, 400,000 bikes are stolen. And each year, 150,000 bikes are found but are never returned simply because they cannot be identified. Although bike marking has been compulsory for new bikes sold since January 1, 2021, it is not a requirement for older bikes.

The BICYCODE® system, based on recommended local operators and a partnership with the police, can improve the chances of returning stolen bikes.

With the cooperation of the association "Les Dérailleurs de Clamart", the Institut Pasteur cycling section is organizing a Bicycode marking session for Institut Pasteur staff interested in marking their bikes.

Where? The esplanade of the CIS building
When? Friday May 12
from 1.30 to 3.30pm

Marking costs €10 for non-members and €5 for those who sign up for the "Dérailleurs" association – make sure you bring an ID document with you.

Carbon fiber and titanium frames cannot be marked.

Please note: you will need to book a slot.

The volunteers in the cycling section can also help you out with minor adjustments or repairs to your bike (brakes, gears, etc.). There will not be any spare parts available (apart from a few patch kits) but you are welcome to come along for advice.
