• Ceremony in honor of Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, from 2pm in the CIS auditorium
As we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the discovery of HIV, this is a unique opportunity to showcase the remarkable breadth of Françoise Barré-Sinoussi's scientific career and her tireless commitment to tackling HIV and promoting the humanist values that she has always embraced.
Save the date in your diaries and make sure you don't miss the ceremony in her honor, "Françoise Barré-Sinoussi, 40 years fighting HIV," to be held on Thursday June 1, 2023 from 2pm onwards in the CIS auditorium. The event will feature various first-hand testimonies to offer new insights into the history of the response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in France and at international level, and especially the key contribution of Françoise Barré-Sinoussi to this major cause in our contemporary history.
As the organizers want to make sure that as many as possible can enjoy this unique event, the proceedings will be screened in the Émile Duclaux lecture hall if the CIS is full.
The ceremony will be followed by a cocktail reception served in the CIS hall.
We hope that lots of you will come along.
