Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Many events took place this Thursday.
The first, held near the crypt of the Museum, was dedicated to the ceremony traditionally organized on the anniversary of the death of Louis Pasteur. Many Pasteurians were present to pay tribute to him and listen to the speech delivered by Christian Bréchot.
Later in the day, at 6 pm, the ceremony was held in tribute to Christian Bréchot at the end of his term as Institut Pasteur President. The entire campus community was invited to the hall in the CIS building to listen to speeches by Christian Vigouroux, Chairman of the Institut Pasteur Board of Directors, Erik Orsenna, Ambassador for the Institut Pasteur and the Institut Pasteur International Network, and Christian Bréchot himself.
This was an important opportunity to commend the President for his work and achievements over the past four years in support of the Institut Pasteur’s research and global visibility.
Following on from this event, Christian Bréchot wanted to send a personal message to all Institut Pasteur staff:
«Dear colleagues and friends,
My term as President of the Institut Pasteur ends today. I would like to thanks those of you who could not attend the farewell party yesterday, which I fully understand.
It has been truly a great honor and a great pleasure to work with all of you. I really enjoyed our interactions and the dialogue that occurred during various meetings and department visits.
Attached you will find a document which summarizes the accomplishments achieved during these four years; this has really been a team effort.
From the bottom of my heart, I wish the best for the future to the Institut Pasteur and to all of you.
Best regards,»
Christian Bréchot
