"A healthier future – it's all about the science" (Demain nous serons moins malades et nous l’aurons bien cherché) is a bold campaign slogan designed to grab the attention of the public for the 11th edition of Pasteurdon! This year's annual campaign to raise funds and awareness for the Institut Pasteur incorporates a whole new identity that is firmly focused on the future, with the aim of attracting attention and sparking interest.
The dedicated Pasteurdon website, pasteurdon.fr, is gearing up for the 2017 edition and will soon feature this year's bold new campaign slogan and visuals.
For the second year in a row, Bruce Benamran, a science enthusiast whose mission is to get the public interested in science, has made a special YouTube contribution to support Pasteurdon 2017.
Diaries at the ready! The 11th edition of Pasteurdon will officially get under way on October 11. The launch ceremony is a great event where many of those taking part in the campaign will unveil Pasteurdon 2017 and give you a sneak peek of what's new for this year.
►Focus on: 2018 ANR Generic Call for Proposals
The French National Research Agency (ANR) has launched its 2018 Generic Call for Proposals.
To help you prepare your pre-proposal and budget, the Grants Office (GO) has a number of useful documents:
• An Excel file that you can use to draw up your budget, together with the Institut Pasteur wage scale
• A memo containing important information about the pre-proposal stage.
Changes from previous editions:
- Pre-proposals for JCJCs (Young Researchers), PRCs (Collaborative Research Projects) and PRCEs (Collaborative Research Projects involving Enterprises): submission of a 4-page document (including bibliography), no appendices, online completion of CVs – a non-compulsory template will be available on the ANR submission page, due to launch on September 29;
- PRCIs (International Collaborative Research Projects): no pre-proposal this year. Submissions only in stage 2;
- A scientist (PI) may be included in no more than 3 proposals in connection with the 2018 Action Plan (1 coordination and 2 partnerships, or 3 partnerships). This concerns ALL calls for proposals for the 2018 Action Plan (Generic Call for Proposals, ERA-NETs, etc.).
The ANR pre-proposal website is due to go live on September 29. GOnational will send out a message with information to help you sign up. A guide to submissions will also be published on the ANR website.
GOnational is considering organizing a half-hour training session for JCJCs if there is enough interest on campus. If you are interested, please send an email to GOnational@pasteur.fr.
