Report on the Institut Pasteur General Meeting session on June 27

The members of the Institut Pasteur General Meeting met on Thursday June 27.

The meeting, introduced by Yves Saint-Geours, Chairman of the Institut Pasteur Board of Governors, was held in person in the CIS auditorium, but with the possibility of attending remotely via Teams.

During the meeting, the members unanimously approved the minutes of the General Meeting held on June 12, 2023.

They also approved the Annual Report of the Board of Governors by an absolute majority. The 2023 annual report (AR) is a key link between the previous and new senior management of the Institut Pasteur, and comes at a time in the life of the Institut Pasteur Assembly when several of its members are up for re-election. In his speech, Yves Saint-Geours highlighted the Institut Pasteur's ability to "adapt", echoing the theme of this new AR. "Adapting means betting on the future, supporting and accompanying young people, acting in accordance with our principles, demonstrating scientific integrity and making our actions clear".

This presentation of the AR was accompanied by a presentation of the accounts for the 2023 financial year by François Romaneix, Senior Executive Vice-President, who focused in particular on the financial statements and budget outlook for the Institute.

Access the "S'adapter" thematic dossier (in French, English version coming soon)

Please note that this year, again, the number of printed copies of the Annual Report has been reduced to 2,300. For this reason, the Annual Report will no longer be distributed in hardcopy to each unit. However, it is available in PDF form on the external website accessible to the public pasteur.fr (see above). At the end of the report you can find further details about the "sustainable" conditions in which it was produced.

The General Meeting also replaced two Board members who recently resigned (Art. 3B c) of the articles of association). The term of the elected replacement members will run until the date on which the term of those they are replacing would normally have come to an end, in a year's time (in 2025).

•  Mr Stéphane Pallez, chosen for his/her financial, industrial, business, legal or management expertise, to complete the term of Inès-Claire Mercereau (2025)

Finally, at the invitation of Institut Pasteur's Board of Governors, Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur, shared the highlights of the strategic vision for Institut Pasteur to 2030. Recalling her pride in being at Institut Pasteur and her deep attachment to the "house", Yasmine Belkaid was keen to emphasize, in the current context, international as much as national, the "need to be united and work together to support the strategic plan that is taking shape in the Pasteurian spirit and thus support our four fundamental missions to ensure our role as guardians of human health. It will also involve deploying and engaging ourselves in an environment that respects the individual and promotes diversity, equity and inclusion to serve all talents". Yasmine Belkaid also presented several of the achievements that have taken place since her first six months in office, in terms of governance, organization, strengthening partnerships, recruitment, but also listening and collective construction.
