A look back at the Institut Pasteur general lecture with Sandra Lavorel

On Monday March 3, the Institut Pasteur held its first general lecture with the renowned ecologist Sandra Lavorel.

After an introduction by Henri Pitron, Vice-President Communications and Public Affairs, and Patrick Trieu-Cuot, acting Senior Executive Scientific Vice-President, Sandra Lavorel presented her research on biodiversity, especially functional ecology, a discipline that aims to improve our understanding of ecosystem dynamics.

Through her results obtained in Alpine prairies, Sandra Lavorel devises landscape change scenarios to improve biodiversity management, while also highlighting nature’s contributions to climate change adaptation.
