Introducing REDCap, a new solution for electronic case report forms (eCRFs)

The Information Systems Department, committed to providing you with the tools you need for your clinical and epidemiological research, is pleased to offer a new service: the REDCap solution for electronic case report forms (eCRFs).

The REDCap-Pasteur team is on hand to help you create your eCRFs (for training, support, guidance, etc.).

The REDCap-Pasteur team will also be responsible for administering the platform (upgrades, development of specific features, etc.) and coordinating the REDCap community at the Institut Pasteur.

REDCap is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. This free application, developed by Vanderbilt University, was first created in 2004. It is now widely used among the scientific community, serving more than 400,000 projects and 2,500 institutions worldwide. It has also been cited in over 4,600 journal articles.

REDCap offers an extensive range of features, including:

• an application that can be accessed anywhere via a web browser (PC, Mac, Android),

• a tool that is user friendly and easy to grasp,

• an application that complies with the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) 21 CFR Part 11 standards,

• the option of offline data capture via a mobile app in areas with no cellular coverage.
