From May 19 to 23: enjoy Nature Week with a series of lectures and debates, and take part in workshops related to the International Day for Biological Diversity on May 22

For this year's "Fête de la Nature," which includes the International Day for Biological Diversity, the Institut Pasteur is organizing a special week with events on several nature-related topics, from May 19 to 23.

A series of lectures and debates on ethics and biodiversity will take place in the OMICS Agora from Monday to Wednesday, from 1 to 2pm:

•  Monday May 19: Environmentally friendly neurotechnologies? Ethics and environmental impacts. – Angelina Mira D’Ercole, (Legal Affairs Department - Ethics Unit)

•   Tuesday May 20: ‘Protecting nature and ethics: an experiment in participatory thinking based on La Vieille Anglaise et le Continent’, Jean-Claude Dupont (Legal Department - Ethics Unit) and François Bontems (DR2 CNRS Structural Virology Unit Institut Pasteur and Department of Structural and Analytical Biology and Chemistry ICSN).

•   Wednesday May 21: Law and ethics: allies of nature? – Anne-Laure Morin and Julie Allouche, (Legal Affairs Department - Ethics Unit)


The highlight will be a special day on May 22 with a range of activities for the entire campus:

•   CSR awareness, GreenTeam and ethics stand – in front of the canteen from 11.30am to 1.30pm

•   Campus nature discovery tours to explore wildlife on campus (registration only)

•   Fun creative workshops (insect hotels, art, etc.)

There will also be several other events taking place on that day, including exhibitions and opportunities to find out more about research related to biodiversity.

Also on the topic of biodiversity, note that the very first "Pasteur, Tomorrow" event will be held on June 5, 2025 in the Agnes Ullmann lecture hall, with the team from the Tara Océan Foundation, featuring an address by Henri Bourgeois Costa, Director of Public Affairs at the Tara Océan Foundation and a specialist in ecosystem geography.
