Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Since Monday July 9, the "Vivons Vélo" initiative in aid of the Institut Pasteur has been in full swing in the atrium of the François Jacob building on the Institut Pasteur campus, giving everyone the opportunity to ride for research.
Three stationary bikes have been set up for this 7th edition, with brand new scenic backdrops designed to inspire all staff to get pedaling and clock up the kilometers every day with the aim of reaching the weekly target of 600km.
Since the launch of the campaign, up to and including Thursday July 12, you have already covered a total of more than 915km.
Many of you took part in the individual Tuesday challenge, which involves covering the greatest overall distance over the three weeks. And the first team challenge also proved popular – this week's task was to cover the furthest distance in groups of two or three cyclists. Thank you for your ongoing commitment and your continued efforts to push those pedals for charity!
The team challenge for next week is to complete 10km in the quickest time – so start flexing your thigh muscles... The individual challenge will continue over the three weeks.
We would remind you that the bikes are available every weekday, Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 5.30pm, except during the challenge sessions run by the organizers on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11.30am to 2.30pm. It's up to you to choose whether you want to take part in a challenge or simply come along and get pedaling!
This year, some great prizes are available for Institut Pasteur staff who demonstrate their own cycling prowess during the Tour de France. They include jerseys signed by the members of the AG2R/La Mondiale team, sports outfits and, once again this year, an introduction to track cycling at the prestigious national velodrome in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, accompanied by an instructor and a member of the AG2R team. And on Tuesdays and Thursdays : key chains, t-shirts, and water bottles for the top performers!
In addition, a unique virtual reality experience is offered during the supervised challenge sessions: put on a connected headset and choose either an open air ride through beautiful landscapes or a sporty mountain bike trail for more excitement.
So don't put it off any longer – come and give it some pedal power!
Next week, we'll be heading for the cobbles of northern France and Roubaix – so make sure you cobble together your best efforts for charity!
