After taking office as President of the Institut Pasteur in January 2018, Professor Stewart Cole embarked on the development of a new strategic plan for the Institut Pasteur for the period 2019-2023. On December 21, 2018, the Board of Directors unanimously adopted this ambitious yet realistic action plan for the next five years.

Honor

Arnaud Fontanet, Professor at the Institut Pasteur and at the Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (CNAM), specializes in the epidemiology of infectious and tropical diseases. He is a former resident in the Paris Public Hospital Network (AP-HP) and a doctor of medicine (Paris V University) and public health (Harvard University).

Health

The doctors in the Institut Pasteur's Occupational Health Department and the occupational health physicians at Inserm and the CNRS have drawn up an agreement on monitoring staff exposed to pathogens in research laboratories, with the aim of harmonizing the surveillance practices for these specific staff members.

The first estimates of drinking water consumption in 2018 are now available. Approximately 367,900m3 of water was consumed on campus in 2018 – the equivalent of 5,040 bathtubs each day. Water is a resource that is becoming increasingly scarce: over the past 75 years, the volume of drinking water available per person per year has fallen more than threefold.
