New video from Stewart Cole: International solidarity and cooperation: the response of the Institut Pasteur International Network to the pandemic

Now more than ever, international cooperation is vital if we are to overcome the crisis caused by the COVID-19 outbreak. And that cooperation must be characterized by solidarity and a spirit of mutual assistance, since viruses know no borders. The Institut Pasteur International Network represents a wonderful example of cooperation in which the expertise, technologies and logistical capabilities of each member are made available for the benefit of all.
 
In this new video, I wanted to pay tribute to this outpouring of solidarity by drawing your attention to the remarkable efforts of the Institut Pasteur International Network in tackling the pandemic. Its response reflects the threefold approach – scientific, financial and political solidarity – that WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros called for back in early March. Today, more than ever, the Institut Pasteur International Network sets a shining example, one that can give new impetus to multilateralism, international cooperation and global solidarity.
