Third edition of the globally successful Vaccinology MOOC comes to an end

The 2020 edition of the Vaccinology MOOC, led by Behazine Combadière and Armelle Phalipon, has come to an end. This edition covered all modern aspects of scientific research in the field of vaccinology and attracted some 3,550 scientists worldwide in nearly 118 countries.

Since the first edition in 2015, more than 13,000 learners from 138 countries signed up for the Institut Pasteur's Vaccinology MOOC. Interest in the field has undoubtedly grown since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and this curiosity was further developed thanks to the efforts of the MOOC's community managers, Corentin Tropée and Phanramphoei Frantz, who organized a number of very popular "hangouts", with several participants following live debates with the MOOC's leaders, especially on the topic of COVID-19.

The MOOC also represented an important step in the launch of the Institut Pasteur Online Diploma in Infectious Diseases (DNM2IP) in late 2019, with nearly half of those registered for the DNM2IP choosing the Vaccinology MOOC as one of the five Pasteur MOOCs they need to obtain the diploma. In connection with the diploma, all the MOOCs on infectious diseases and microbiology will be updated and re-run for six weeks every two years. So make sure you check out the next edition of the Vaccinology MOOC in 2022!

You will also be pleased to hear that the Institut Pasteur is continuing to produce new MOOCs and that the lockdown has not slowed its efforts! On September 1, registration will open for the "Essais cliniques dans les maladies infectieuses et tropicales" (Clinical trials for infectious and tropical diseases) MOOC, led by Muriel Vray.
