Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Lockdown measures, hygiene and distancing measures, restriction of gatherings, etc. These preventive measures put in place to manage the COVID-19 outbreak have had a major impact on our daily contacts. It is precisely through these contacts that the virus spreads between individuals. To understand how the measures have altered the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 throughout the population, it is important to assess how our contacts with other people have changed.
An initial survey conducted by the Institut Pasteur in March and April 2020 showed that during the lockdown French people reduced their contacts by more than 70%. The Epidemiology and Modeling of Bacterial Escape to Antimicrobials and Mathematical Modeling of Infectious Diseases units at the Institut Pasteur recently launched a new survey to improve understanding of how contact networks have changed since the end of lockdown. This study is being conducted in partnership with the University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Paris-Saclay University and Inserm.
