Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The Global Virome Project (GVP) is an ambitious international initiative that seeks to identify and characterize, within a decade, more than 99% of all zoonotic viruses with epidemic/pandemic potential in order to better predict, prevent, and respond to future viral pandemic threats. The budget forecast for the project is $3.5 billion.
The GVP, originally developed by the US Agency for International Development, is evolving. Accordingly, topics such as its scope, the scientific, governmental, public and private organizations involved, and the project's funding model and governance structure, are currently being discussed by numerous partners.
A seminar is being held on this project of international importance in the Emile Duclaux lecture hall at 5pm on November 28, 2016.
Dr. Dennis Carroll, USAID Director, Dr. William Karesh, Executive Vice President for Health and Policy for EcoHealth Alliance, and Dr. Eddy Rubin, Metabiota Chief Science Officer, will be at the Institut Pasteur to present the project and discuss details of collaboration with the Institut Pasteur International Network.
We hope to see lots of you there!
