Latest Activity Report of the Pasteur Microbes & Health Carnot Institute now online

The Carnot label, introduced in 2006, is awarded to public research organizations that aim to develop collaborative research. The Pasteur Microbes & Health Carnot Institute is based around four topics: emerging infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, the microbiota and non-communicable diseases, and links with math, physics and chemistry.

The report presents the projects supported by the Pasteur Microbes & Health Carnot Institute to bring therapeutic, diagnostic, vaccine and biotech solutions to market more quickly. The institute's work is divided into three areas based on technology readiness level or TRL:

•    Area 1: Scientific and technological resources: using basic research to keep a step ahead when it comes to topics of public interest. The report particularly looks at COVID-19, which was a focus of research over the past three years.

•    Area 2: Professional development and partnerships: projects with the potential to create economic value by addressing market needs.

•    Area 3: Promotion and use of the Carnot network: inter-Carnot partnerships and measures to improve the visibility of the Carnot label.

The report also contains an interview comparing the perspectives of Jean-Christophe Olivo-Marin, Director of the Pasteur Microbes & Health Carnot Institute, and Isabelle Buckle, Deputy Director of the Pasteur Microbes & Health Carnot Institute and Vice-President Technology Transfer and Industrial Partnership (DARRI). They reflect together on the past three years and look ahead to the future of the Pasteur Microbes & Health Carnot Institute and its involvement in the future Carnot Infectious Disease Alliance.
