Register for new editions of the "Virus and human cancers" and "Tuberculosis" MOOCs

The online courses division is offering you the opportunity to register for the following two MOOCs:

  • Second edition of the MOOC "Viruses and human cancers", from September 3 to October 31, 2021, led by Jean-Pierre Vartanian and Hilde Angermeier

This MOOC was set up in response to the fact that today almost 20% of human cancers are either directly or indirectly related to a viral infection or the presence of viral genes in the body.

The MOOC describes the mechanisms of cancer induction following a viral infection and the different species or families of virus most often associated with the emergence of cancer in humans: retroviruses, papillomaviruses, hepatitis viruses, Merkel cell polyomaviruses and human herpesvirus-8 (HHV-8). A chapter is dedicated to innovative preventive measures that could reduce the high burden of cancers related to viruses throughout the world.

This MOOC is aimed at anyone seeking to learn more about viruses and human cancers. It is of particular interest for students working in virology, oncology, and the biomedical sciences, as well as health professionals, researchers, and NGOs.
