CORONAVIRUS

The Institut Pasteur is a leading global center for infectious disease research, one of the priority research areas identified in its 2019-2023 Strategic Plan. On January 27, 2020, as the 11 million inhabitants of the Chinese city of Wuhan, where COVID-19 had originated, found themselves in a strict lockdown, the Institut Pasteur set up a task force to provide an emergency response to the health crisis by studying the virus and the disease it causes.
