Following on from his New Year address on January 12, the President Stewart Cole would like to reiterate that he and the entire management team are committed to making sure that all staff at the Institut Pasteur are able to work in the best possible conditions on a daily basis, so that together we can hold high the humanist values that characterize our institute.

130TH ANNIVERSARY

Catherine Rougeot, an Institut Pasteur guest researcher, was recognized by the Institut Pasteur in 2017 for her work in discovering a non-opioid analgesic, today called STR-324. She was appointed member of the National Academy of Inventors in the US on receiving the award.

In 2017, the Institut Pasteur appointed Ray Schinazi as Affiliated Professor at the Institut Pasteur. Ray Schinazi, Director of the Laboratory of Biochemical Pharmacology at Emory University, Atlanta, is a leading researcher in the field of nucleoside chemistry. For 35 years he has been working at Emory on a number of different viruses: herpes, HIV, hepatitis B and C, and dengue.

The 17th Institut Pasteur Laboratory Show will take place from 10am to 5pm on June 21 in the CIS hall and auditorium. For the 2018 edition of the annual event organized and coordinated by the Procurement Department team, suppliers have been selected to showcase their latest products (equipment, reagents and consumables) and answer any questions about practical or technical issues.

The fourth edition of the "Printemps des Arts du 15e", a major spring art festival in Paris' 15th arrondissement, got off to a great start in Place Beuret last weekend. This event, a collaborative venture by the local town hall in the 15th arrondissement, artists, the "Printemps des Arts du 15e" association and the district's cultural facilities, consists of three weekends (March 24-25, April 7-8 and April 24-25) that celebrate artistic creation, shared experiences and youth.
