A European study has revealed the diversity of antibiotic resistance genes in the bacteria that make up the gut microbiota. Teams from Beaujon and Bichat Claude-Bernard hospitals in the Paris Public Hospital Network (AP-HP), Inra (MetaGenoPolis), the Institut Pasteur, Inserm, and Paris Diderot and Paris-Saclay Universities developed a novel bioinformatics method to predict the function of genes based on the 3D structure of the proteins they encode.

On October 2017, a working group was set up to reflect on the Institut Pasteur's relations and interactions with non-academic and non-industrial partners. Several interviews were carried out with Institut Pasteur staff to explore three questions, which were used as the basis for a summary document.

The Pasteurians and Alumni Cafés, launched in June 2017, have already proven hugely popular with current Institut Pasteur staff and students and members of the alumni community. These events, which feature special guest speakers, provide a friendly, relaxed atmosphere where staff, students and alumni can enjoy a drink and a chat, share their experiences and discuss a given topic.

130TH ANNIVERSARY

A few days before the international conference on global health, held on November 13 as the culmination of the Institut Pasteur's 130th anniversary festivities, the railings of the Paris campus were once again turned into an open-air gallery for a photo exhibition.
