Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The Information Systems Department is issuing a series of recommendations and practical information to help you organize your work.
- All staff are also advised to copy any important working documents into the dedicated storage spaces (Gaïa/Atlas) so that they can access them from home via the VPN.
1/ Remote access
We would remind you that the following services are accessible online (in the same conditions as on campus):
- Your email account: https://email.pasteur.fr
- The procurement portal: https://portailha.pasteur.fr
- The HR portal: https://portailrh.pasteur.fr
Several other web services are accessible either via the portal https://connect.pasteur.fr or by activating the VPN:
- Webcampus
- Télémaque
- Publications
All these applications, together with the storage spaces (Gaïa/Atlas), can be accessed by activating the VPN.
For more information on how to connect to the VPN client, please consult the help page.
Finally, we would advise you to test the connectivity of your laptop as soon as possible so that any connection problems associated with a home WiFi network or a mobile access point can be identified and dealt with. Remember to return your phone line.
2/ IT resources for organizing virtual meetings (Vidyo, Skype, RENATER):
• Vidyo
The Vidyo virtual meeting platform can be used to organize virtual meetings in six rooms on campus, with remote participation from staff or external stakeholders.
You can consult the following pages for information on holding virtual meetings via Vidyo.
• Skype for Business and the Renater « Rendez-vous » system
These two systems allow the organization of virtual meetings via your compute
Using Skype for Business:
- on a Mac
- in Windows
3/ Organizing a conference call
You can also set up conference calls. To do so, simply send a request (preferably 24 hours in advance) to informatique@pasteur.fr. You will be sent a conference call number and password, which you can pass on to the meeting participants.
This system is not free of charge and we would advise against using free systems available online as they are generally run by commercial companies with the aim of collecting personal data.
If you work with external stakeholders (e.g. suppliers or external staff), you may be invited to virtual meetings via Vidyo or other platforms such as Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc. As more and more companies are starting to impose restrictions on movements, you will probably notice an increase in the use of these tools. If you receive an invitation to a virtual meeting via a system that is different from the one we use, we would strongly recommend testing it in advance, as some systems require you to install a software plug-in before using them (which may cause access difficulties and delay the start of your meeting), and to adjust microphone/webcam access permissions as needed.
If you have any requests, please call 3600 from campus or +33 (0)1 40 61 36 00 if you are off campus.
