Parasites of the genus Leishmania show important genomic instability, which these pathogens use to adapt to their environment. A study by Institut Pasteur researchers shows that Leishmania exploits non-coding RNAs to mitigate toxic effects of genome instability by post-transcriptional regulation and the establishment of specialized ribosomes.

The first meeting of the Institut Pasteur's new Research Volunteers Committee (COVOL) took place on December 6, 2021.The COVOL is an initiative of the ICAReB (Clinical Investigation and Access to BioResources) platform and the Ethics Unit. It reflects the determination of the senior management team to foster the Institut Pasteur's links with civil society by promoting the emergence of initiatives that bring the Institut Pasteur closer to citizens (priority no. 2 in the 2019-2023 Strategic Plan).
On December 20, the Institut Pasteur obtained the EU's HR Excellence in Research Award. The HR Excellence in Research Award, issued by the European Commission, is part of the European Commission's Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R). It is a mark of excellence awarded to research institutes that apply the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (the Charter & Code).
