Encephalitis is an acute inflammation of the brain tissue that affects both children and adults and is particularly prevalent in South-East Asia. The scientists and physicians involved in the South East Asia encephalitis (SEAe) project, coordinated by the Institut Pasteur in Paris, in collaboration with the Pasteur Network, demonstrated the importance of prevention and rapid, appropriate treatment for patients with encephalitis.
