Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
After the commemoration of Louis Pasteur's bicentenary in 2022, the year 2023 will also be a year full of celebration. We will particularly be focusing on two major Pasteurian discoveries of great significance for science and society: 40 years since the discovery of HIV and 20 years since the discovery of the first genes associated with autism.
To mark the eighth International Day of Women and Girls in Science (on February 11), and in line with other initiatives and events organized at the Institut Pasteur to reflect its commitment to equality in the workplace, an event coordinated by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) group and the Grants Office is coming up soon on campus. Other events on the topic of gender equality will also be taking place this year.

The COVID-19 epidemic of recent years has taught us that a multidisciplinary approach to scientific research is essential for the development of new therapies. The "New antiviral strategies: from bench to bedside" thematic meeting is at the frontiers of developing new health technologies for the benefit of patients.
The research project ArchOMEP was launched just over a year ago, and it has so far reached two-thirds of the total cohort aimed for. Forty Institut Pasteur staff have already responded to the call by agreeing to share and talk about their experiences of the health crisis, with almost perfect gender parity (21 women and 19 men). The aim is to gather accounts from 60 people. The study is making good progress – but it's not over yet!
