A few weeks after taking office as President of the Institut Pasteur and following the appointment of the Scientific Director, Stewart Cole made a series of proposals to the Board of Directors with the aim of improving the organization of the Institut Pasteur. The Board of Directors approved these proposals at its meeting on March 5.

Scientific events

The StaPa is organizing the workshop: How to achieve equality in science. To celebrate the International Day of Women’s Rights and raise awareness of gender issues in science, this workshop was designed to focus on actions for equality and how these actions can affect your career. The Institut Pasteur is committed to promoting gender parity in science and this workshop is an excellent example of a community initiative to address these issues.

education

As part of the ongoing development of its online training, the Institut Pasteur, in collaboration with Paris Diderot University, has set up a MOOC on resistance to antibacterial agents. The spread of antimicrobial resistance, probably linked to the excessive and poorly controlled use of antibiotics in human and veterinary medicine, could lead to serious public health problems over the next few years.
