The Institut Pasteur in Paris and its International Network of 32 institutes have been extremely active worldwide in responding with science to the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Its response currently involves a lot of people at the Institut Pasteur in Paris and several teams in the network in other countries.
Resistance to artemisinin, the main component of the current antimalarial treatments recommended by WHO, is already widespread in South-East Asia, but it had not previously been described in Africa.
The fourteenth edition of Pasteurdon to be held in October will take place in an unprecedented health context. The annual Pasteurdon is a pivotal event that showcases research and those who best embody it. The campaign provides an opportunity to inspire as many people as possible to give in support of the Institut Pasteur’s research.
