A general meeting was held for all staff on Monday November 7. This meeting, organized by the senior management team, was attended by over 700 Institut Pasteur employees, either in person in the CIS auditorium or remotely via Teams.

BICENTENARY

The year 2022 has seen a host of memorable events to mark the bicentenary of Louis Pasteur's birth, including exhibitions, conferences, dedicated scientific awards, book publications and a special staff day to celebrate Team Pasteur and the Institut Pasteur's founder.

Although the mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 entry into host cells are increasingly well documented, little is known about the direct molecular interaction between the virus and its host. Scientists from the Institut Pasteur, the CNRS, Université Paris Cité, Helmholtz Munich, the Donnelly Centre for Cellular and Biomolecular Research in Toronto and the Center for Cancer Systems Biology in Boston have generated a systematic map of molecular contacts between the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its human host.

In a ceremony on October 21, 2022, the Institut Pasteur and UC San Francisco Quantitative Biosciences Institute (UCSF QBI) announced a new partnership for the joint establishment of  the Institut Pasteur-UCSF QBI Center of Excellence in Emerging Infectious Diseases with planned operations in San Francisco and Paris.

Physicians and scientists from the Institut Pasteur, the Pasteur Network and ANRS | Emerging Infectious Diseases have conducted a review of the medical and scientific literature about monkeypox.

sustainable development

In line with the Institut Pasteur's ambitions to encourage all staff to get involved in sustainable development both now and in the future, a decision memo and guidelines have recently been introduced, based on the sustainable development master plan that is currently being jointly developed, to reduce the environmental impacts of activities on campus, especially energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

The appraisals and career development reviews will begin on Monday November 21 and continue until January 30, 2023. Please note that appraisal and career development forms will need to be approved by January 3 at the latest for Compro promotion requests for non-scientific staff and requests to advance from technician to engineer status.
